[ Oh. Huh. Chances are that they did it quietly, that they didn't advertise it. Jack's at a loss for how to respond at first. Any swell of pride for Cassian's happiness doesn't really come from him. ]
I'm guessing it was pretty private. Well, congratulations. Belatedly.
[ jyn proposed and they simply waited the two weeks for the official approval to make it official. it wasn't particularly romantic in that sense, but the thrill of it was. ]
We just signed some documents, and that was that. We did not want to make a big deal of it. No one was there. This planet's customs are very easy in that sense.
[ the second message comes in a few seconds later when he remembers people usually give gratitude for that sort of thing. he's just... not used to receiving it personally. ]
Guess there's no reason for it to be a whole big thing, unless you want that.
[ But no, neither of them are the type. Jack knows that much. ]
Anyway, this might be as simple as some internet searching for a restaurant with the right name in New Moscow. Let's not overcomplicate things if we don't have to. But if you two want to scout ahead, that's not a bad idea.
[ as evidenced by the fact that many people don't even know they're married yet. ]
I am hoping it is that easy. Cassius may also be able to get us further information about it, if the restaurant is real. I would not want any of us to go and be caught.
[ and tbh, there are a lot of displaced he would not trust to be subtle about it - it's half the reason he volunteered himself first. ]
Fair point. We don't want someone going there without us hatching a plan and then compromising whatever it is we're hoping to learn. But I also wonder if everyone who's had the dream needs to go.
Reaching out to Cassius isn't a bad idea, now that we've pieced together this much.
I think anyone who wants the chance to speak at Grey should get it, but I also believe if we do not approach it cautiously, the chance will be taken from us as a whole.
Cassius wants us to be safe as well, so it is fair to say he will not send us towards something with a high risk percentage.
That's true. Do you think we should keep him out of it, then?
[ It's a good thing a lot of these discussions have been in inboxes, though not all of them. And while Jack is careful to lock things down, he would not be surprised if they AIs could hack through all that. ]
Cassius? No. Whatever comes of New Moscow, I think we should keep him in the loop. He knows Grey better than all of us. I would much rather he be watching our backs preemptively than having to plan a rescue.
It is the displaced as a whole I am hesitant to loop in just yet.
Yeah. He might not approve of us searching out Grey, but I also don't think he'll actively stop us, especially when Grey's making a point of calling out to us like this.
Anyway, it's that comment about a "table for five" from my dream that makes me wonder if he'll only meet with us if we follow his terms.
If we can do it as safely as we can, he might even want to help us.
I do wonder what the cause of these dreams are, whether it is Grey seeking us out, or the Gold god, or both. Does Grey himself know we retained the tattoos? If this requires all of us, we will need to make sure we are united in it.
[ which seems a much easier task with a smaller number tbh. ]
True. We'll just need to play our cards right, then.
I have to assume Grey has some sort of awareness about it, but you understand more about the connection between him and the Gold god. And I don't know all of the people who had a dream, but I find it hard to believe that any of us wouldn't have some interest in getting to the bottom of this.
