[ It's true that Jack is rarely this forward when it comes to physicality in their relationship, or whatever they want to call it. He prefers to stumble into things, or at least let it seem as if they're happening by chance. He falls asleep on the couch and lists against Gabriel's side; while sharing a bed, he lifts his head and finds his face just centimeters away from Gabriel's -- that kind of thing.
This isn't anything like that. It's deliberate and raw, an outpouring of everything he's had bottled up since he first heard news of that earthquake. Gabriel's taken by surprise (not an easy thing to do, most of the time), but to his credit, that isn't the case for long. Instead of questioning why Jack is doing any of this, he decides to go with it.
With Gabriel backed up against the wall, it doesn't take much for Jack to invade his space, his arms lifting so that he can set his hands on either side of his neck as he quickly deepens the kiss, his tongue sliding into Gabriel's mouth with little hesitation.
By now, this is almost becoming familiar. The first kiss back on El Nysa had been such a shock to both of them, but now they've done this enough times that Jack's getting used to the feeling of Gabriel's goatee chasing against his skin, and to his taste.
His thumbs press into the skin of Gabriel's throat and he makes a noise at the back of his throat. This is the most surefire way to assure himself of the fact that Gabriel is alive and well, so he's going with it. ]
[Gabriel's not going to complain--in fact, he thinks maybe he should find himself in peril more often if this is how Jack responds. He lets Jack more-or-less press him against the wall, move his arms where he wants them, making a satisfied noise when Jack probes his mouth open. Gabriel is perfectly content to let it happen, even seeming a bit smug about the fact that he's managed to elicit this from Jack.
Still, he's not about to make it easy.]
Are you checking me for a pulse?
[Rest assured, this will only be a small delay. Gabriel just needs to have his moment, first.]
[ As much as Jack might just want to kiss Gabriel until he's breathless, that isn't how it plays out. Even with something like this, Gabriel finds some method of doing it his own way, and when he breaks the kiss to ask a stupid question, Jack practically growls. ]
No. Shut up.
[ They should move somewhere more comfortable, maybe, but nowhere in their apartment is really that comfortable and Jack suspects that if the mood is broken up too much more, that he'll end up backing off.
If Gabriel isn't going to protest a 'welcome back, glad you're not dead' make out, then Jack's going to keep on with it. He nudges his face back in close against Gabriel's and presses into his mouth again, licking around Gabriel's tongue with even more insistence this time. His hands shift to Gabriel's shoulders instead, applying pressure until he's pinned against the wall. ]
[Still, he's not going to let Jack forget this, even if he's clearly acting out of relief. Perhaps Gabriel should have checked in more often, but if this is the kind of reaction he gets, well. He's not going to complain. Maybe he's even a little surprised at Jack's enthusiasm.
So he'll shut up for now, parting his lips for Jack, letting him press him up against the wall. Perhaps he's a little curious about how far Jack wants to go, letting his hands settle on Jack's hips, pulling him closer.]
[ The crushing kiss comes from relief and frustration in equal measures, something that Gabriel will feel more and more as the empathy bond remains active between them, causing both of their chests to give off that familiar blue light. That's part of the reason why Jack has always been reluctant to do this kind of thing. Well, that and about ten other reasons.
A few of them being: 1) His continued hesitance over letting himself get too close to a man who he knows for a fact will betray him and one day try to kill him. 2) The fact that he's out of practice, having not been intimate with someone like this in more years than he'd care to count. 3) The knowledge that Gabriel will never let him live this down.
Some of this might travel across the bond, but it's nothing that Gabriel doesn't already know.
Either way, it's time, and now that they're in this deep Jack isn't letting himself think about it too much. Gabriel pulls him closer and their bodies slot up against each other, hard muscle meeting hard muscle, and with the extra charge between them Jack can't help but hyper-focus on how it feels to be this close to Gabriel.
He doesn't stop kissing him, mainly because he doesn't want to give Reyes the opportunity to say some other dumb thing and kill the moment. Their noses brush against each other as he continues to explore Gabriel's mouth with his tongue, learning him in a way he'd never been able to before. ]
[Gabriel can tell there's something different about all this--Jack seems emboldened, less hesitant. Probably trying to make sure neither of them blow it, as has happened so many times before. He can appreciate that, at least, smiling a little into the kiss at the realization. They're both trying very hard not to screw this up.
He still doesn't like the bond, but he'll do his best to ignore it in light of the more pleasurable turn of events.
For now, he'll try and see how far Jack is willing to go. Gabriel hooks his thumbs around the rim of Jack's jeans, letting him press him into the wall.]
[ Jack won't deny that he's been the one holding back, beset by cold feet whenever Gabriel tried to push further, at least when it came to the physical side of their relationship. Neither of them particularly enjoy talking about how they feel, but unfortunately, those two things go hand-in-hand here.
They can't touch each other without knowing what the other's feeling. It's no wonder that Jack hadn't been all that eager to hop into the sack with Gabriel, but if nothing else, the two of them are both pretty good at pretending something never happened. So, whatever emotions might travel across the bond during this? It'll be easy enough for both of them to take that information to their graves.
When it comes down to it, Jack is actually the one with more experience doing this exact kind of thing, for all of Gabriel's interest and boldness. Maybe there's a small part of him that's concerned that once they go below the belt, Gabriel will be the one pulling back -- and shit, he doesn't need him to know that.
Whatever. All he can do now is push through and not give Gabriel the chance to comment on anything. To that end, he continues to busy Gabe's mouth with his tongue, which is made even easier as he's tugged closer by his jeans.
Jack's own hands reach down to seize Gabriel by the hips before he shifts them toward his middle, snaking fingers under the hem of his shirt and then up to brush over the bare skin of his abdomen. ]
[The time for Gabriel's snarky commentary is long gone, having been successfully silenced and otherwise occupied by Jack. Perhaps he'll slip something in eventually, but for now he's just impressed by how forward Jack is being. He'll take advantage of it while he can--see how far it goes.
Where he might ordinarily be more combative, insisting to be the one in control, Gabriel lets Jack do what he likes, nudging his shirt upward to reveal the flat plane of his stomach. As much as he hates to admit it, this is Jack's wheelhouse, and he's not about to sour the experience by getting in the way.
Still, he's not about to lie back and take it. He feels cool fingers slide up his stomach and he bites at Jack's lower lip in return, both an encouragement and a warning.]
